My Favorite Protein Shake

I've been asked more than once for a great protein shake recipe.  If you're looking for a great pre-workout, meal replacement, recovery, or filling, high-cal shake, this one's for you!

Combine the following ingredients in a blender:

1 cup ice
1 cup yogurt (for extra protein, try Greek yogurt)
1 banana
2 tbsp. peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower butter
1/2-1 cup milk, soy milk, or almond milk
1 scoop protein powder (optional)

Blend together to desired consistency.  Serves 2

  • Total Calories: 306
  • Fat: 11 g
  • Carbs: 34 g
  • Protein: 20 g

  2. My fav is frozen blueberries, banana, protein powder and almond milk. Yesterday I used coconut WATER instead of almond milk and it was a great substitution. It also helped rehydrate after a run in the heat.

  3. This is my favorite too and I add a whole bunch of spinach. More vitamins and a rockin' green color! Yum.
